Breast Cancer

Breast Cancer Screening

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian women. 9 out of 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history of breast cancer. Breast screening can find breast cancer early and means there are more treatment options.

Who is eligible?

BreastScreen provides free breast screening to women who are 40 and over, and haven't noticed any changes to their breasts. Breast screening is most effective for women aged 50 to 74.
